Asylum Road has carved a name for themselves in the groove metal scene with their powerful blend of heavy riffs, intricate rhythms, and visceral vocals. Formed in Derry, the band’s music reflects the raw intensity and passion of their hometown. Their 2024 debut EP, “The Fear,” established them as a force to be reckoned with, earning them critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.

In 2025, Asylum Road welcomed the formidable Paul Sandy on guitar, adding a new layer of depth and complexity to their sound. This addition has solidified their lineup and propelled their music to new heights, culminating in the creation of “Cerca Trova.”

As someone that really liked their previous EP The Fear, this is a massive step up for the lads. Not only in musical quality, but the production too, it sounds massive in comparison.

Losing a founding member and guitarist can sometimes be the death nail for bands, but they’ve found a clearly excellent replacement in Paul Sandy and the signs are really good for their forthcoming EP that’s due in June.
