Alien Dishwasher Release New Album Beneath The Fading Bridge

Alien Dishwasher is an instrumental one man project from a man named Mariusz who was previously in the Irish based project Ciernie. During his time with the band he got into music production. Initially to save money, but it blossomed over time. Other life factors came into his life before returning with Alien Dishwasher.

This is his third solo album as of now and all within less than eighteen months, which is incredibly prolific and all are really good. He has taken it forward though on this album. It’s a truly magnificent album that despite its lack of vocals, it almost makes up for them with the standard of his playing. The harmonies etc all hit hard and the musicianship is of the highest caliber. There’s so much going on in this album it’s hard to put into words. I wouldn’t do it justice anyway, I’d make it sound like some sort of Frankenstein’s monster rather than the amazing work it truly is.

This is definitely an album I’ll be returning to near the end of the year when I’m looking at my end of year lists for sure. Due to his prolific nature, he may have another album out by then?

Party Cannon Release New Single/Video Thirst Trap

Party Cannon have released a new single/video Thirst Trap ahead of their Summer festival appearance. While slightly different from their previous works, this is really good! It’s still extremely heavy, but a lot more groove on this release.
The band issued this statement.

Brutal death metal masters Party Cannon release new single/video, “Thirst Trap”; prepare to kick-off “Low IQ Summer Tour” next week

Chris “Clankenstein” Ryan (bass) comments: “Old School Death Metal has come back in a big way and while that’s cool and all, I think people have had enough songs about ghouls and angry demons recently – so we’ve gone the completely opposite direction and taken a much more highbrow route by writing a 2 minute goregrind song about being overwhelmingly h*rny. I think what the world really needs right now is a group of men in their 30s to write a song about sh*gging. People are going to get up and do stuff after hearing this and the economy is going to improve, it’s really going to make a difference. While groovy grind has always been part of our sound, we’ve hyper focused on it this time around – fans of Rompeprop, Gutalax, Kaasschaaf, early Carcass and dancing hard will be happy. Don’t worry though, there’s still plenty of ignorant slam riffs, pig squeals and blasting to keep the IQ lowering Party Cannon sound in tact. I don’t use terms like ‘magnum opus’ or ‘the next Stairway To Heaven’, but I think they might be appropriate here.”

Starting next week, Party Cannon will appear at some of the biggest festivals across Europe this summer, before kicking off a UK/IRE tour in September with Nekrogoblikon, Allegaeon, and Grief Ritual; see below for all dates!

Asylum Road Drop New Single/Video Cerca Trova

Asylum Road has carved a name for themselves in the groove metal scene with their powerful blend of heavy riffs, intricate rhythms, and visceral vocals. Formed in Derry, the band’s music reflects the raw intensity and passion of their hometown. Their 2024 debut EP, “The Fear,” established them as a force to be reckoned with, earning them critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.

In 2025, Asylum Road welcomed the formidable Paul Sandy on guitar, adding a new layer of depth and complexity to their sound. This addition has solidified their lineup and propelled their music to new heights, culminating in the creation of “Cerca Trova.”

As someone that really liked their previous EP The Fear, this is a massive step up for the lads. Not only in musical quality, but the production too, it sounds massive in comparison.

Losing a founding member and guitarist can sometimes be the death nail for bands, but they’ve found a clearly excellent replacement in Paul Sandy and the signs are really good for their forthcoming EP that’s due in June.

Codespeaker Release New Single Verte

Codespeaker are a post-metal band based in Edinburgh, Scotland. They are set to release their second album Scavenger this November via Ripcord Records.

They have dropped their first single from the album Verte, and it’s excellent! A proper post-metal release that delivers in every regard.
The lads have forwarded on an advance of the album that will be indulged in deeply over the coming weeks, as I know this will need a good few listens to fully absorb. I say that in the best possible way!

They are coming over to Ireland in late November to tour with Hundred Year Old Man. With gigs set for Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Belfast. A tour that should not be missed if you’re a fan of post-metal.

Check out Verte here.

I Bring Chaos: Introducing Chiral

Dive into the sonic underworld with Chiral, the wicked 4-piece Irish renegades boldly trespassing musical borders, concocting a potion of punk, metal, rock, and dance with a side of avant-garde.

Born in the shadows of early 2023, multi-instrumentalist, producer, Gary Duncan joined forces with vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Adam Brewer, birthing the RATM-inspired anthem ‘Digital Whispers’ a haunting ode to the existential dread of AI’s influence on humanity.

Duncan’s guitar sorcery seduced vocalist Adam Brewer into this dark alliance from the very start.

Joining this musical séance to complete the unholy quartet and glue it all together. Eddie “Graveyard” Delaney bringing the thunder on drums, a long-time friend and musical conspirator of Duncan’s, and rounding out the grit and dirt of the low-end, the bass behemoth Al “Bluster Bhoy” Tierney.

Although ‘Digital Whispers’ is where Chiral started, this was a song they had no plans to release, however this all changed after the release of  ‘I Bring Chaos’ and how quickly interest in Chiral started to build.

From Chiral’s genesis to the darker debut release of  ‘I Bring Chaos’ a song that dives headfirst into the drug-fueled underworld, it’s music video a graffiti-stained descent into madness. Released exclusively on Chiral’s YouTube channel on January 27th, 2024, “it’s not just a song; it’s a macabre dance with the absurd”.

In a twist of fate, shortly after the I bring Chaos video shoot ‘GraveYard Ed’ decided to exit Chiral, this left an opening at the drum stool.

After auditioning some awesome drummers for the vacant position, Chiral’s chief axe wielder Gary Duncan decided to move over to drums.

This allowed the awesomely talented Chris Craig (Vendetta Love) to step into the role of Chiral Guitarist.

The newly reformed Chiral wasted no time, plotting their next move through the shadows.

With further releases like ‘Digital Whispers’ and ‘Kubrick Odyssey’ exclusively on YouTube in early 2024, a dark pilgrimage through Germany in May, and accolades echoing from the farthest corners of the globe, the chaos of Chiral knows no bounds.

Imagine this pandemonium through the prism of chirality, where rebellion intertwines with the symphony of skulls and spray cans. Chiral is not just a band; it is a carnival of sonic madness, where the darkness beckons you.

Come join the dark parade.

Here’s a direct link to all their tracks released as of now. They vary in style and all very different/original in regards to the Irish scene. They won’t be for everyone, but if you get them, you get them.

We shall of course start with I Bring Chaos which was their debut single/video. A haunting yet amazing piece of music that goes inside the mind/eyes of an addict and nails it to perfection. This was refused coverage by many sites due to its extreme content. They done it right so!

That’s the Chiral story as of now in regards to their releases. The band don’t use Spotify etc and keep all their music on YouTube and their only other social media is Instagram.

Enshroud – M O R T A L Review

Hailing from County Antrim, Enshroud bring a collective death metal masterpiece to life with their second album ‘Mortal’. This is a gritty, riff-driven monster that pulls no punches, and throws plenty of them. The slow, doom-filled opener ‘Dust to Dust’ growls underneath powerful vocals and punishing guitars and drum, albeit with a sense of apprehension about the tone. This is soon remedied with the monarch of aggression that is ‘Frailty’; a polished diamond explaining the fury at the loss of a loved one due to disease. This may hit home with a lot of people, but metal is about explaining anger at the world in whatever shape it may take and Enshroud delivers the message very clearly.

‘A Fate For No One’ hammers this point home again, outlining the pointless suffering that a loved one goes through before the end. It’s almost as if the band themselves have put their own spin on that journey. If rage could be bottled, this would do well at self-help classes. ‘Infestation’ and ‘War Within’ sing from the same hymn sheet but change the tempo and pace, especially in the drums and guitar sections. The latter is a defiant scream at fate; a warcry that vows resilience against whatever attack is being carried out. A statement released by the band themselves confirm this as “an exploration int the mindset of both the onlooker and sufferer of terminal illness, mixing the emotional experience of anger, sadness, resentment, hopelessness, and acceptance”. This album has enough of each of those emotions for
another album.

‘‘Safe in Forever’ resets the dial a bit, starting slowly and solemly with echoing vocals and guitar, reminiscent of Pantera’s Cemetery Gates. This is a burning ode to regret (I feel that vibe can be attributed to a lot of this album’s content); a lament at opportunities not taken and important time wasted. The
orchestral compilation enhances this feeling throughout the entire track and is unmistakable in its emotion. ‘The Decay’ starts to flex the anger muscles again, starting eerily and growing in intensity. Consistence in the drum section keeps the pace at a finely tuned rhythm, but the master stroke is the
guitar riffs that permeate every single cell that makes up this song. The killing blow comes from the final track ‘Fallen Time’, littered with vocal harmonies and chord strikes in the background that ring out to prolong the sense of foreboding that Enshroud so expertly deliver. This is also a slow burner, but this time, it is an acceptance statement; acknowledging the futility of being angry at something that will proceed with or without your emotions involved. It’s almost as if they are saying goodbye to someone who
is watching them play this song. It’s beautifully morbid, evoking pity for someone going through unimaginable distress. A thousand-yard-stare would not be alien to the listener once they have heard this song a few times.

This album is simply superb; it is thought-provoking and evokes a certain panic at the thought of someone cherished being at the mercy of a disease that cannot be taken down easily. The band really have taken
their art form and given it a physical one, all the while guarding themselves supremely. At the time of writing, their identities remain a secret – so giving kudos to the musicians will have to be a collective effort. This is an outstanding body of work, and a fine successor to their debut album ‘Darkness Grips Us All’.
